ONCA - Court of Appeal for Ontario (Canada)

Related Citation: O.N.C.J., O.N.P.C., R.S.O., O.N.S.C.

2007 to date.

Published decisions of the Ontario Court of Appeal, Toronto, Ontario (Canada).

In 2007, the Court of Appeal opted for a database and Internet-friendly neutral citation system: O.N.C.A.

Because of the exigencies of electronic databases, it is often presented as ONCA (without the periods).

Since 2007, all cases chosen for release to the public are assigned a permanent ONCA number with the four-digit year followed by the ONCA and then a sequentially assigned number which starts at 1 on the first judgment issued as of January 1, and ends with the last judgment published on December 31 of each year.

The first ever case issued with the ONCA legal citation:

Atec Marketing Limited v Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, 2007 ONCA 1
