M. L. R. - Modern Law Review

This is the newer, preferred legal citation for the Modern Law Review. The publishers, the Modern Law Company, now prefer M.L.R., to the older, longer legal citation of Mod. L. Rev.

Volume was published in 1937 under the editorship of R.S. T. Chorley, and under the auspices of the Modern Law Review Corporation, incorporated in England under the Companies Act and is registered as a charity.

It has been published annually since then and, as of 2011 was at Volume 72.

The present publisher is Blackwell and the current statement of scope:

"The Modern Law Review was established in 1937 as a charity devoted to the promotion of legal education, the study of law and all other arts and sciences which may be of interest to those involved in the study or practice of law....

"The Modern Law Review is a general, peer-refereed journal that publishes original articles relating to common law jurisdictions, and increasingly to the law of the European Union. In addition to publishing articles in all branches of the law, the Review contains sections devoted to recent legislation and reports, to case analysis, and to review articles and book reviews."
