Cal. Jur. refers to the original edition, which was published in 1921 in San Francisco by Bancroft-Whitney (editor: William McKinney). That original edition had this statement inside:

"A complete statement of the law and practice of the State of California."

Cal. Jur. 2d refers to the second edition published in 1952.
