There were also, confusingly, two other similarly titled law journals: the Lower Canada Law Journal (L.C.L.J.) and the Upper Canada Law Journal (published at Toronto by Maclear and Company or W.C. Chewett & Co.), the latter just a temporary title for the C.L.J. (see below).

The original (old) series ran from volumes 1-10 (1855-1864). A 2nd or "New Series" - aka C.L.J.N.S. - ran from volumes 1 to 58 (1865-1922)

There was a peculiar and very temporary change in title from volumes 1 through 3 of the New Series (1865-1865), Upper Canada Law Journal.
