First published from 1972 as the Canadian Environmental Law News, to 1984, and republished as the Canadian Environmental Law Reports (C.E.L.R.), in 12 volumes, from 1972 to 1984, all by the Canadian Environmental Law Research Foundation.

As of 1987, published by Carswell (Toronto, Canada) as a "New Series", or C.E.L.R. (N.S.) up to volume 50 in 2003, followed by a Third Series - C.E.L.R. (3d) - in 2003 and as of December 2009, at volume 46.
