Bus. L. J. - Business Law Journal (USA)

  • Jurisdiction: United States
  • Dates covered: 1923-1932
  • Publisher/Reporter: Business Law Journal Company, New York

The first issue was published in February of 1923.

The publisher, in the first edition, and under the header "Avoiding Litigation" stated the purpose of the publication as being precisely that; to:

"... enable the business executive to know when he is facing the possibility of legal entanglement...."

John Edson Brady was the editor throughout.

The last issue was April 1932 at which time, subscribers were advised that the publication was merging with the Banking Law Journal (est. 1889) and that:

"... these two magazines have been published in the same offices and by the same editorial staff for the past nine years...."

Note that the title Business Law Journal was also taken, albeit for a brief period of time, by the University of Miami Business Law Journal, which went by the simple name Business Law Journal for its first three volumes (1-3), three years, between 1990 and 1993.
